Chapter two

The most important points of the chapter in Writing Academic English (WEA)

1. Every good paragraph has both unity and coherence.

2. Achive unity by:

*discussing only one idea in a paragraph.

*always staying on the topic in my supporting sentence.

3. Achive coherence by:

*repeating key nouns

*using consistent pronouns

*using transition signals

*arranging my ideas in some kind of logical order

4. There are different types of transition signals. Each type is puncuated differently

This is important points to remember to coming essay writing, Many things that I read now is a reminder of what I´ve learned in swedish class some semesters ago, but not everything is the same. For instance coorinators (huvudsats) and subcordinators (bisats), if I got it right the general rule is, put comma after a depentent caluse but not infront of one...I´ll stydy it more to see if I got it right.
